— Funeral services for Gerald W. Gudkese, 73, Memphis, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial in Sellersburg Cemetery. He died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013.

 He was extremely talented and enjoyed restoring classic cars out in his garage. He loved spending time with his family and attending many of the local car shows. He was born April 8, 1940 in New Albany, to the late Anthony P. and Helen Grube Gudkese.

He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Sue Hammonds Gudkese; daughter, Tracy Hart and her husband, Todd; granddaughters, Christa, Brianna, Elizabeth, Chelsey, and Hannah Hart; grandsons, Tyler, Joshua, and Michael Hart; close niece, Karen Creech and her husband, Mace; great-niece, Maria; and many good friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Gudkese. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, and after 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
