A memorial service for Nelson Lee Dietrich, 75, a lifelong Henryville area resident, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Adams Funeral Home & Crematory, Henryville, with private graveside service held at a later date. He died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, on his farm.
Born March 16, 1938 in Clark County, he was the son of Robert Nelson and Fay Munk Dietrich who are both deceased. He was a family man who enjoyed working and instilling in his children his work ethic. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was a 1956 Henryville High School graduate, a 1960 Tri-State University graduate, a lifelong member of Mt. Lebanon Presbyterian Church, administrator of Mt. Lebanon Union Cemetery, and enjoyed farming, working, and going to auctions. He owned and operated Dietrich’s stores in Henryville and Lexington, was a former school bus (202) driver, and served on the New Washington State Bank Board.
On Oct. 2, 1960, he married Marianna Watson Dietrich who survives in rural Henryville where they lived for more than 44 years. Other survivors include four children, Krista Dietrich-Osiecki and her husband, Eric, Louisville, Jeffrey Dietrich, Henryville, Todd Dietrich and his wife, Kimberly, Henryville, and Kara Brown and her husband, Keith, Henryville; five grandchildren, Colton and Clayton Dietrich, Deke Brown, and Lindle and Carmen Osiecki; and three siblings, Roberta Bastian, Henryville, Thomas Dietrich and his wife, Connie, Henryville, and Marilyn Dietrich, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 12, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be given to Mount Lebanon Union Cemetery or the Maude Munk Scholarship fund at Henryville High School c/o Adams Funeral Home, 209 S. Ferguson Street, Henryville, Indiana 47126.
