Sergei Nikolai Davidenkoff, 67; of New Albany

Funeral services for Sergei Nikolai Davidenkoff, 67, of New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, at Park Christian Church, 2231 Green Valley Road, New Albany, with interment at 2:30 p.m. Friday, at Clear Creek Cemetery, Bloomington. He died Monday, March 4, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.

 He was a native of Lienz, Austria and was an Elder at Park Christian Church in New Albany. He was the Vice President of Operations for ResCare Inc. in Louisville, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a 1969 graduate of Indiana University with a BS in Slavic Languages and a lifetime member of the IU Alumni Association. He received the “Key to the City” of Crystal Springs, Miss. He was a former coach and active member of the Floyd County Youth Soccer program.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Stansifer Davidenkoff; a son, Nikolai Sergei Davidenkoff,  of Clarksville; daughters, Natalie Thurston and her husband, Eric, and Nadia Davidenkoff, both of New Albany; brother, Vladimir “Vova” Gitskij, of California; sisters, Lidia Vargas, Olga Menendez, Anya Ushakova-Crain and Marina Ushakova Heritage, all of California; and grandchildren, Parker Davidenkoff, Cole Thurston, Colin Thurston and Caden Thurston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera (Ushakova) and Nikolai Davidenkoff.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Park Christian Church, New Albany.
