John Lewis Weddle

85; Charlestown

— Funeral services for John Lewis Weddle, 85, Charlestown, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at his home.

He was born on March 15, 1928 to John and Georgia Phillippi Weddle in Clark County. He was a retired meat packer for Armour Meat Packing in Louisville, and was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 335, and a member of the Mt. Lebanon Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Sue Weddle, Charlestown, and Judy Moss and her husband, Jim, Alexandria, Ky.; son, Chris Weddle, Jeffersonville; brother, Ben Weddle, New Washington; grandchildren, Shana Cress and her husband, Scott, Jonathan Moss, Brett Moss, Kelsey Moss, and Christopher Weddle; and great-granddaughter, Penelope Rose Cress.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Clara Franklin, and Grace Franklin, and brother, Albert Weddle.

 Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, and after 10 a.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
