A graveside service for Joyce Herr Simmons, 64, of Orange Park, Fla., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, at Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville. She died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park, Fla., with her children at her side.
She was a wonderful and beloved mother and grandmother. She had retired from the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, prior to moving to St. Augustine, Fla. At the time of her death, she was the owner of USA Jewelry and Pawn Shop and Florida Cash Pawn Shop.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Taylor-Whitehead and Pattie Taylor; sisters, Connie Alexiou and Marsha Morris; and grandchildren, Ashley and Allison Almon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan C. Simmons; grandparents Clark and Ruth Mousa, of North Vernon; and parents, Mildred Mousa Haydon and Walter “Ben” Herr.
Joyce loved her Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We look forward to reuniting with her in heaven for eternity.
