Viola C. Bartley

85; of New Albany

— Funeral services for Viola C. Bartley, 85, of New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 17, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Thursday, July 13, 2013, at her home.

   She was a native of Elizabeth, and was the former Viola C. Smith. She was retired from the Mapping Department of the U.S. Census Bureau, Jeffersonville, and was a member of Northside Christian Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary, Bonnie Sloan Post 28 American Legion. 

She is survived by her husband, John W. Bartley; two sons, Jon Michael Bartley and his wife, Norvette, of New Albany, and Scott Bartley and his wife, Vicky, of Elizabeth; a daughter, Sandy Ferree, of New Albany; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Bartley, her parents, Wayne and Catherine Smith, two brothers, Kenneth and Edward Smith, and two  sisters, Bernice Lopp and Marha Funk

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
