Maysel Irene Abbott Wright, 92; of Borden

Funeral services for Maysel Irene Abbott Wright, 92, of Borden, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at Borden Church of Christ, with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Borden. She died Monday, June 17, 2013.

She was born May 25, 1921, to Claude and Edna Abbott in Salem. She married Marvin Oliver Wright on Oct. 15, 1938. She was a longtime member of Borden Church of Christ where she faithfully served and enjoyed cooking for church dinners. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother she worked for nearly 18 years as Kimball Office Furniture in Borden. She loved to cook and to be surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed traveling but found there was no place like her home in Borden.

Survivors include four sons, Leslie and his wife, Janet, Boyd and his wife, Jaquetta, Bruce and his wife, Connie, of Borden, and Jerry and his wife, Rose, of Columbus; two granddaughters; five grandsons; one great-granddaughter; six great-grandsons; one niece; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her parents; a baby sister, Helen; brother, Boyd; daughter-in-law, JoAnn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernald and Audrey Gettelfinger, and Ottis and Lenora Wright.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home, Borden, and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at the church.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Wood Carr Township Fund or the Church of Christ of Borden Youth Ministry.
