Robert Spencer Jenks Sr., 83; New Albany

— Funeral services for Robert Spencer Jenks Sr., 83, New Albany, will be at noon Saturday, March 22, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, in New Albany.

He was born in New Albany on March 1, 1931 to the late Joseph and Ruby Jenks. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, was a retired estimator from Louisville Paving Company. He was a past president of Greater Louisville Bowling Association, Southern Bowling Congress, and Kentucky Bowling Congress. He was a lifetime member of both the Bonnie Sloan American Legion Post 0028, and  VFW Post 3281 both in New Albany.

Survivors include sons, Robert Jenks, Jr. and his wife, Monica, Jerry A. Jenks and his wife, Star, Dale Jenks and his wife, Shelly, Eddie Jenks and his wife, Starr, and Jeff Jenks and his wife, Diane; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Mary Catherine Lankford;

sisters-in-law, Janice Jenks, and Patty Jenks; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Hall.    

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis.           

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
