Francis E. ‘Frank’ Watson 89; of New Albany

Funeral services for Francis E. “Frank” Watson, 89, of New Albany, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Gehlbach and Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. He died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany.

He was born in Central on March 9, 1923, the son of Floyd T. and Daisy Montgomery. He was a retired maintenance man for Dupont in Louisville and was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in New Albany. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII and was a member of the VFW Post in Corydon.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Hilda Johns Watson; brothers, Jesse G. Watson and his wife, Geraldine, of Lanesville, and Guy L. Watson, of Clarksville; a sister, Corinne Saulman and her husband, Paul, of Corydon; 16 nieces and nephews from the Watson side; several nieces and nephews of the Johns side, Amy Smith, Steve and Mike Johns and Pam Kay; six great nieces, Jane and Jasmine Smith, Kimberly and June Johns, Angie Mayfield and Kristina Throth and great nephew Jimmy Johns.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today [Monday] and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
