Nova E. Walls

86; of Charlestown

Funeral services for Nova E. Walls, 86, of Charlestown, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at First Baptist Church, Charlestown, with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. He died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012.

He was born Sept. 11, 1926 to Charles O. and Anna Lambdin Walls in Orange County. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired pipe-fitter for Witten Brothers in Charlestown, a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlestown, and member of the Blazing Star Masonic Lodge in Charlestown, and Scottish Rite. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include his daughters, Sandy McCoy, of Otisco, and Rita McCoy and her husband, Marc, of Otisco; son, Dr. Jimmy Walls and his wife, Catherine, of Charlestown; grandchildren, Jonathan McCoy and his wife, Colette, of Charlestown, Julie Lange  and her husband, Steve, of Louisville, Adam McCoy and his wife, Mandy, of Louisville, Dr. Meredith Lulich and her husband, Steven, of Bloomington, and Nathan Walls, and Ashley Walls, both of Charlestown;10 great-grandchildren; and brother, John Walls and his wife,  Faye, of Paoli.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Pittman Walls, who passed away on July 26, 2004, brother, Ed Walls, sister, Pauline Qualkenbush, and son-in-law, Ted McCoy.

 Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown.
