Rosie Gertie Daughrity, 87; Floyds Knobs

— Funeral services for Rosie Gertie Daughrity, 87, Floyds Knobs, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday April 9, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville with burial in Fairview Cemetery. She died Saturday April 5, 2014, at her home.

She was the former Rosie Gertie Absher, born in Adair County, Ky., was a retired cook from Jerry’s Restaurant and was a member of the VFW Hobart Beach Post Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Daughrity; her parents, Henry and Laura Rhoda Absher; and a son, Vernon Lee Wiseheart.

Survivors include three sons, William Absher and wife, Virginia, Ronald Ballard and wife, Kathy, Delbert Wiseheart; one stepson, David Daughrity; four daughters, Margaret Sturgill, Phyllis Carpenter and husband, Eddie, Doris Bezy and husband, Deacon Joe, Virginia Ballard; one stepdaughter, Debra Humphrey and husband, Donald; two brothers, Jessie Absher and wife, Carrie), Alonzo Absher and wife, Linn; a half-sister, Geraldine Miller and husband, Wayne; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and two future great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday before the service at the funeral home.
