Allan Herman

81; New Albany

Funeral Mass for Allan Herman, 81, New Albany, will be at 10 a a.m. Saturday, April 26, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Autumn Woods Health Campus, New Albany.

 He was born Dec. 21, 1932 in New Albany to the late Frank and Elizabeth Voigner Herman. He raised his family with his wife in Clarksville before moving to Florida after retiring from his career as a cartographer with the Army Mapping Service. Recently, he and Dorothy moved back to a house  in Greenville. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy DeCamp Herman; sons, Steve Herman and his wife, Janice, and Mark Herman and his wife, Sherry; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Velma Frakes.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany.
