Funeral services for Ralph Dannye “Dan” Monroe, 66, of Jeffersonville, will be at noon Friday, July 12, at Scott Funeral Homes, North Chapel, Jeffersonville, with entombment in Walnut Ridge Mausoleum. He entered into eternal life on Sunday, July 7, 2013.
He was born in Madison, retired from Greater Clark County Schools and was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Madison. He enjoyed driving, U of L athletics, spending time with his family and a good meal, but most of all he loved watching his grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy Carol Monroe; three children, Daniel Clinton Monroe and his wife, Angie, of Jeffersonville, Amanda Carol Slaughter, of Louisville, and Adam Clayton Monroe and his wife, Jeslyn, of Jeffersonville; a brother, Aaron Monroe, of Cincinnati; two sisters, Jonell Seavers and her husband, Carlyle, of Columbus, and Bettye Davis, of Columbus; and five grandchildren, Matthew, Danielle, Kaitlyn, Lauren and Clayton Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Henry and Mary Alice Monroe.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, and after 9 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
