Bertha Hall, 90; of Borden

Funeral services for Bertha Hall, 90, of Borden will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Borden Church of Christ with the Rev. Scott Reeder officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery. She died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at University of Louisville Stroke Center after a brief illness.

She was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Henryville, the daughter of the late Bruce Carter and Rosa Costin Carter. On June 9, 1945, she married Elmer Hall, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Borden Church of Christ and was retired from ICI and a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter Susan E. Porter of Sellersburg; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Eugene “Red” Hall; four brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hughes-Taylor Funeral Home in Borden and from 10 a.m. until the service Thursday at the church.
