Mary Isabelle Stierstaedter Bryant, 90; New Albany

Funeral Mass for Mary Isabelle Stierstaedter Bryant, 90, New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, New Albany. She died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Westport Place Health Center, Louisville.

The daughter of the late Andrew and Irma Jacobi Stierstaedter, she was born Nov. 22, 1923, in New Albany. She was a graduate of New Albany High School and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany. During World War II she worked as a purchaser of airplane parts for the U.S. Government, moved to Chattanooga, Tenn., where she worked as a librarian and then spent the majority of her life as a mother and homemaker. 

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Presley and her husband, Ronald T., and Anita Leonard and her husband, Michael R.; grandchildren, Drew Presley and his wife, Kristine, Hannah Presley, Cody Presley, and Christopher Leonard and his wife, Kami; and great-granddaughter, Abby Rose McGuire.

 Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ira Bryant. 

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany. There will be a Rosary Service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
