William Robert Ransom, 85; Sellersburg

Funeral services for William Robert Ransom, 85, Sellersburg, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Sellersburg Cemetery. He died Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care Center, Sellersburg. 

He served his country in the United States Marines, worked in management for Air Craft Engineering, and was a member of Calvary Christian Church and Riverboat Sam’s Camping Club. 

Surviving include six sons, Robert Ransom and his wife, Donna, Ft. Wayne, William L. Ransom, Knox, Danny Ray Ransom and his wife, Pam, Mesa, Ariz., Donny Ransom and his wife, Sally, Mooresville, Jerry L. Ransom and his wife, Yolanda, Richland, Mo., and Gary Ransom and his wife, Debbie, Franklin; six daughters, Betty McClain, Mooresville, Judy Westenhofer and her husband, David, Avon, Sherry Edwards-Duke and her husband, David, Mooresville, Terri Ransom, Indianapolis, Karen Nimtz and her husband Mark, Mooresville, and Peggy Bowling and her husband, Marvin, New Port Richey, Fla.; brother, Alan Ransom, Zepher Hills, Fla.; sister, Janet Metzger, Panama City, Fla.; 33 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Loretta McClain and Julie K. Nimtz.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday, at the funeral home.
