Alice A. Meador

65; of Borden

Funeral services for Alice A. Meador, 65, of Borden, will be at 6 p.m. this evening at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with private interment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Friday, April 27, 2012, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health  Services.

She was born Aug. 1, 1946, in Sacramento, Ky., to the late Oscar and Sarah Anthony.  She held a Bachelor Degree from Western Kentucky University in chemistry and math graduating at the top of her class in 1968. She was a member of  A.O. Phi Sorority, selected for the book of “Who’s Who in Chemistry and Math,” and honored as a Kentucky Colonel. She was a longtime member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and was a wonderful, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Gary L. Meador; son, Lee Shannon Meador and his wife, Kathy, of Jeffersonville; and granddaughter, Alyssa Meador.

Reception for family and friends will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 1, at the funeral home.
