Sharon ‘Gaga’ Wilson Salinas, 75; of Jeffersonville


A celebration of life for Sharon “Gaga” Wilson Salinas, 75, of Jeffersonville, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg. She died Monday, June 24, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services. 

She served her country in the United States Army, was a nurse anesthetist serving at Jewish Hospital for more than 30 years, and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Jeffersonville. She was a master gardener, book club member, volunteered at Audobon Hospital in Louisville, donated to many charities, loved animals and was a huge UNC fan.

Survivors include her daughters, Pilar Salinas-Bedo and  her husband, William, of Louisville, Rémy Salinas Branstetter and her husband, Neal, of New Albany, and Pedrina Salinas, of Wilmington, N.C.; grandchildren, Trey Brummett and Logan Branstetter; beloved dog, Fox ; and beloved cats, Emily, Roy, Dean and Boo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Foy Wilson and Neta Wilson; brother, Kenneth Jack Wilson; and Godson, Spc. Christopher Shane Wright.
