Ruby Jo (Hart) Nichols, 86; New Albany

— Funeral services for Ruby Jo (Hart) Nichols, 86, New Albany, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany, with burial to follow at Mount Holly Cemetery in Fairdale, Ky. She died April 12, 2014.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge #1 and Parkway Southern Baptist Church in New Albany. Ruby had worked at the Fashion Shoppe and been an active volunteer for many years at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She was a talented quilter and enjoyed working puzzle books and going for long walks around town.

Ruby was born on May 5, 1927 in Campaign, Tenn., to the late Lester and Mary (Judd) Hart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Nichols; children, Mary Jane “Nikki” Keeler, William “Bill/Nick” Nichols; and brothers, Bill and Edsel Hart.

She is survived by her grandsons, Jared Keeler (Sharma), Jason Nichols (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Amara, Henryk, Emlyn, Brianna, Janna, Jacob; and close friends, Gary and Rhonda Cullen.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15,  at Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany.
