Betty Jane Archibald, 83; Georgetown

— Funeral services for Betty Jane Archibald, 83, Georgetown, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 27, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, Georgetown, with burial in Batman Cemetery, Milltown. She died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Waterford Health Campus, Kokomo.

 She was born in Hazard, Ky. on March 17, 1931, the daughter of John Little and Annette Drake. She was a retired elementary school teacher for the Crawford County Community School System and was a member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ, New Albany. 

She is survived by a son, David Archibald, Jeffersonville; four daughters, Lisa Schafer and her husband, Bryan, Cincinnati, Ohio, Joan Archibald Carver and her husband, Ed, Galveston, Debbie Pirtle and her husband, Tony, Floyds Knobs, and Mona Archibald, Milwaukee, Wis.; a sister, Katherine Taylor, New Albany; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd L. Archibald and a son, Floyd K. Archibald.

 Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

 The family suggests memorial gifts in lieu of flowers be made to the Alzheimers Association.
