Funeral services for Billy R. Deaton, 64, of Georgetown, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Swarens Funeral Home, Ramsey, with burial in Wolfe Cemetery, Georgetown. He joined our Lord in Heaven on April 30, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Depauw on Sept. 3, 1948. He graduated from North Central High School and attended Northside Christian Church in New Albany. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran and retired from Ford Motor Company in 2003 after 31 years of service. He was an avid IU and NASCAR fan and enjoyed camping, wood and metal working, ATV riding and mushroom hunting. He loved spending time with his family.
He was married to his loving wife, Brenda Foley, on June 3, 1967. They were married 45 years and welcomed two children and four grandsons into their family.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; children, Kevin Deaton and his wife, Randa, and Kim Knott and her husband, Jeff; grandsons, Kelby and Tristan Deaton and Dalton and Garrett Knott; sister, Nancy Martin; and a brother, Robert and his wife, Zada.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Luella Deaton; and a brother, John F. Deaton.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and after 10 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
His family wishes to thank Dr. William Croft, Floyd Memorial Hospital staff, and Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
