Mary ‘Mimi’ Louise Straight Hollis, 75; Jeffersonville

Funeral services for Mary ‘Mimi’ Louise Straight Hollis, 75, Jeffersonville, will be at 8 p.m. today, Thursday, July 25, at O.D. White Funeral Home, 2727 South Third St., Louisville, with burial of ashes in Resthaven Cemetery, Louisville. She died Monday, July 22, 2013.

She was born in Louisville on Nov. 21, 1937, to Cletus and Mary “Gaw” Hollis. She cheered for and graduated from Male High in 1955. She was an administrative assistant for the Louisville Colonels baseball team in the 1970s. Mimi was a loving mother and grandmother, as well as a lover of dogs and nature. She had a spirit, grit and personality like no other. She moved her family to Jeffersonville in 1974.

She is survived by her children, Scott Straight and his wife, Julie, Doug Straight and Holly Pace and her husband, Clayton; and grandchildren, Samantha, Steven and Vincent Straight, Madison, Elizabeth, Alex and Kelly Pace, and Mandy and Colton Straight.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by siblings. Laura Whittaker, Juanita Zutt, C.A. Hollis, Betty McCoun and Jimmie Hollis.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p,m. today, at the funeral home.  

The family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to her great long-time friends on Plaza Drive in Jeffersonville, as well as the staff of Kindred Rehab in Sellersburg for the care they gave our mother the last several months.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to any animal rescue group or humane society in Mimi’s honor.
