Paul S. Gardner

84; of New Albany

Funeral services for Paul S. Gardner, 84, of New Albany, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 5, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Oak Street Chapel, New Albany, with full military honors and burial at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at his home, with his family by his side.

He was a native of Detroit, and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired from the old International Harvester Company after 33 years of service and was the owner/operator of the Gardner Heating and Air Conditioning Company for 38 years. He was a member of the DePauw Masonic Lodge 338 F & AM and the First Church of God.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Estelleen L. Gardner; his son, Richard Gardner; a brother-in-law, Jerry Smith and his wife, Carolyn; two sisters-in-law, Jean Norton, and Bettie Wilson; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia Ann Gardner; and a sister, Marjorie Bogle and her husband, Nelson.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God.
