Harold E. Bailey, 87; Memphis

— Funeral services for Harold E. Bailey, 87, Memphis, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, at Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in Bowery Cemetery, Memphis. He died Monday, May 12, 2014, at Clark Memorial Hospital.

He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, retired from Colgate after 38 years, and a member of Stoney Point Christian Church and the American Legion Post 204, Sellersburg.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Evelyn Bailey; sons, Bill Bailey and his wife, Tammy, Sellersburg, and Jeff Bailey and his wife, Carla, Jeffersonville; daughters, Rebecca Lentz and her husband, Richard, Charlestown, Karen McRae, Sellersburg, and Sherri Balmer, Jeffersonville; stepsons, Perry Rooker, Roger Rooker and his wife, Ina, Gary Rooker, and Scott Rooker and his wife, Terry, all of Campbellsville, Ky.; sister, Joyce Pfister, Sellersburg; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Beatrice Bailey, brothers, Ivan Mahoney and Cecil Bailey and a sister, Virginia Druin.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and after 9 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home .

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Stoney Point Christian Church.
