Geneva Gohmann, 93; of Greenwood

Rite of Christian Burial for Geneva Gohmann, 93, of Greenwood, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs, with burial in the church cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 26, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Indianapolis. She died Saturday, July 13, 2013.  

She was born Jan. 17, 1920, in Tell City, to the late Leo and Frances Ray Lutgring. She grew up in Perry County, graduated from Tell City High School in 1937, and attended St. Mary and Elizabeth School of Nursing in Louisville becoming a registered nurse in 1941. She married Bernard Gohmann in 1951 and lived in Floyd County for the next 50 years where she was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Frances “Francie” Sheridan, of Greenwood; sons, Ray Gohmann and his wife, Louise, of Atlantic Beach, Fla., and Bill Gohmann and his wife, Cathy, of Wabash; sister, Irene Bork; brothers, Alfred Lutgring and his wife, Jean, and Donald Lutgring and his wife, Alma; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Gohmann; brothers, Gilbert, Ray and Sydney Lutgring; and sisters, Margaret Frazier, Bette Lutgring and Dorothye LaGrange.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany. A Rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  

Memorial donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church.
