Austin L. and Norma Rogge Smith, 89 and 87; New Albany

— Austin L. and Norma Rogge Smith, 89 and 87, New Albany, died, going to be with the Lord, the last weekend of June 2014.

The couple were married for 60 years. Austin was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. Austin was born in Sterling, Kan. to the late Coleman and Neva Durkee Smith and Norma was born in Clarksville, to the late Lee and Bessie Mae Spond Rogge.

They are survived by siblings, Bob, Jim and Coleman Smith, and Twila Chusak; niece, Julie Vincent; nephew, David Samuels; and cousins, Kenny and Judy Spond.

Cremation was chosen following the couple’s wishes.

A private family graveside service with military honors will be held at New Albany National Cemetery.

Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, is in charge of arrangements.
