Norma Jean Barker Herman

82; of New Albany

Funeral services for Norma Jean Barker Herman, 82, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012. She was born Oct. 6, 1930, in New Albany, to the late John Kelvin and Louise Lovian Ramsey Barker. She was united in marriage Feb. 25, 1947 to Robert Ervin Herman and to this union brought three daughters to bless their home. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting but her true love was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Bob Herman; daughters, Beverly Rice and her husband, Frank, Connie Holland and her husband, Charlie, and Linda Yates and her late husband, Paul; sister, Sharon Dalton; grandchildren, Holly, Tony, Michelle, Mark, Andrew, Brooke, Nikki, Christy, Chris, Scott, Tracy, Robin, Amanda, and Paula; 22 great-grandchildren; nieces, Barbara Hammett, Kelli Fuller, and Brandi Milan.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, John “Buzzy” Barker.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
