Raymond John ‘Rick’ Richmer

90; of New Albany

Funeral services for Raymond John “Rick” Richmer, 90, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial and military honors at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.

The son of the late John George and Clara Myrtle Groskurd Richmer, he was born April 23, 1922, in New Albany. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and member of Hobart Beach Post 1693 VFW, Bonnie Sloan Post 28 American Legion and  St. Mary’s Catholic Church, all in New Albany.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Joyce Richmer; daughter, Mary Kay Campbell and her husband, Bryan; sons, John Alan Richmer and his wife, Julie, Michael Ray Richmer and his wife, Leah Ann, and Scott Joseph Richmer and his wife, Linda; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha ZurSchmiede; and brother, Melton “Bud” Richmer Sr.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
