96; of Clarksville

— Funeral Mass for Ethel M. Brewster, 96, of Clarksville, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Clarksville, with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville. 

She was born Sept. 22, 1916 in Harrison County, to the late William and Emma Gerdon. She was a retired seamstress from the old M. Fine and Sons, an avid gardener, and a devout member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville. 

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John N. and Rebecca L. Brewster; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Elise N. and Dr. Konrad R. Kijewski; and several nieces and nephews.

  She was an inspiration and guiding light to her family and had many friends and wonderful neighbors who loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Gordon Brewster, and seven brothers and sisters.   

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany.
