Kenneth R. Turner

80; Clarksville

Funeral services for Kenneth R. Turner, 80, Clarksville, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.  He died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013.

 He retired from Reynold’s Metals after more than 30 years of service and was an active member of the YMCA in Jeffersonville. Ken was a loving husband, father and grandfather. 

Ken was born on Dec. 21, 1932, in Barren County, Ky., to the late Ray and Cecil (McDonald) Turner.  

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth (Williams) Turner; children, Teresa Miller (Ken) and Monya Turner-Schindler (Ken); sister, Leona Turner; grandchildren, Monya Ringler (Mike), Patrick Alexander (Farrah), Amber Miller, Jessica Puryear (Tim), and Kevin Vittitow; great-grandchildren, Aurora and Alan Ringler, Daniel Alexander, and Raelee Vittitow. 

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his son, Delmar “Del” Turner; and siblings, Harry Turner and Betty Abel. 

Visitation will be from 12 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the YMCA, 4812 Hamburg Pike, Jeffersonville, IN  47130.
