John W. Missi, 89; Lanesville

A funeral service for John W. Missi, 89, Lanesville, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lanesville, with Pastor Christopher Truelson officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. He died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Corydon Nursing Home and Rehab. 

He was born in New Albany on Sept. 4, 1924, the son of Alfred and Amy Ross Missi. He was a retired accounting clerk for CSX Railroad, and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lanesville, and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. 

He is survived by many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Doris Walther Missi. 

Visitation will be held at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, Corydon, on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. 

The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the church.
