83; of New Albany

— Funeral services for Eldon Carpenter, 83, of New Albany, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany, with interment in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, New Albany.

 He died Friday, May 10, 2013, at his home. He was born Dec. 3, 1929 in Hamilton, Ohio, but was a lifelong resident of Indiana. He retired from Pankow Associates as a manufacturers’ representative in 1991. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for 43 years. Family activities were an integral part in his life.

  Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Joan Carpenter; son, Larry Carpenter and his wife, Cindy; daughters, Karen Brooks, Cathy Wheeler and her husband, Stan, and Chris Hendrich; grandchildren, Nathan Headley and his wife, Emily, Eric Headley and his wife, Stacey, Lindsay Anderson and her husband, Clay, Jeffrey Brooks, Laura Herder and her husband, Michael, and Kevin Hendrich and his wife, Robin; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church, New Albany.
