James Edward Harbeson

83; of Memphis

— A funeral Mass for James Edward Harbeson, 83, of Memphis, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 20,  at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Henryville, with Christian burial at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. He died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Kindred Hospital.

Born Nov. 13, 1930 in Cordon, he was the son of Roy R. and Ivadell King.

He married Martha Lee James Harbeson on April 15, 1948 who passed away on Nov. 30, 2011. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and retired as a forklift driver at International Harvester in April of 1985. He enjoyed working on cars and mowing grass.

Survivors include six children, Suzanne Meredith, of Memphis, Anthony “Tony” Harbeson and his wife, Sandy, of Underwood, Sandy Trout and her husband, Jim, of White House, Tenn., Michael R. “Mike” Harbeson and his wife, Ann, of Memphis, Roger Harbeson and his wife, Pam, of Memphis, and Thomas Harbeson, of Clarksville; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, James E. Harbeson Jr., and two brothers, Roy J. and Ronald D. Harbeson.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Adams Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville and after 9 a.m. Monday, at the church.
