Timothy Bailey ‘Tim’ Teives

60; of New Albany

— A funeral Mass celebrating the life of Timothy Bailey “Tim” Teives, 60, of New Albany, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 24, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery, New Albany. He died Tuesday May 21, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.

 He was born in New Albany on Sept. 23, 1952 to the late Charles “Bud” and Rose Bailey Teives. He was retired from AT&T after 36 years of service and was currently employed by the City of New Albany. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Cursillo 53, Cardinal Ritter Council Knights of Columbus, Telephone Pioneers of America and a founding member of the Cardinal Ritter Birthplace Foundation. He was a faithful and loving husband, dad, OD (other dad), PawPaw and an avid I.U. fan. He will be missed more than words can say.    

Survivors include his wife and best friend of 21 years, Cheri Conlee Teives; five children, Brittney Teives, Matthew Teives, Whitney Esarey and her husband, Brent, Josh Williams and Bri Gilbert and her husband, Aaron; four beloved grandchildren, Bailey, Reese, Nathan and Brandon; two brothers, Pat Teives and his wife, Cheryl, and Dan Teives and his wife, Cindy; nieces and nephews, aunts and numerous cousins.      

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany.

The family would especially like to thank the kind and compassionate nursing staff at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
