Barbara Lee Thomas Waltrip, 70; of New Albany

Funeral services for Barbara Lee Thomas Waltrip, 70, of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with private burial in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville. She died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born in Arlington County, Va., raised in Florida and spent her adult life in Louisville and Southern Indiana. She was a long-time member of Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany and a dedicated participant and teacher of Precept Bible Study. She spent her life dedicated to the Lord and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also worked at Target in New Albany as an operator for several years before retirement.  

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Richard C. Waltrip; daughters, Darlena Wilson and her husband, Kevin, Kathy Felton, and Lori Jablonski and her husband, Jim; stepmother, Vida Thomas; siblings, Midge Gordon, John Ralph Thomas Jr. and his wife, Suzanne, and Ted H. Thomas; brother-in-law, Mike Gerard; and grandchildren, Christina, Michael, Bethany and Abigail Wilson, Amberleigh Felton, and Natalie, Ava and Ben Jablonski.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Ralph Thomas; mother, Etha Mae Thomas Denham; sister, Marcia Gerard; and brother, Lamar Thomas.   

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
