Robert Wayne ‘Bob’ Vest, 70; of Greenville, N.C.

Funeral services for Robert Wayne “Bob” Vest, 70, of Greenville, N.C., formerly of New Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Vident Medical Center in Greenville, N.C. 

 The son of the late Charles H. and Kathryn Blevins Vest, he was a native of New Albany, and resided in Greenville, N.C. for the past eight years. After graduating from New Albany High School, he served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 33 years of service. He was a member of both Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville, N.C. and Silver Street United Methodist Church in New Albany. He was an avid golfer, loved watching sports, golf and car races on television. He also made sure that everyone knew he was a Hoosier fan. He  was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His quick wit and outlook could always bring a smile to your face. 

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Janet Baumann Vest; children, David Vest, Diane Paris, Jennifer Voos, and Jeremy Vest; sister, Donna Troncin; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Charles Vest.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
