Catherine Marie Jacobi Andres, 90; Floyds Knobs

— Funeral Mass for Catherine Marie Jacobi Andres, 90, Floyds Knobs, will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs, with burial in St. Mary of the Knobs Cemetery. He died Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

 She was a payroll clerk at Robinson Nugent, New Albany and a clerk in the Floyd County Voter’s Registration. She was a former leader and member of the Floyd County 4-H, the Homemakers of Floyd County, and a current member of WOW – Widows or Widowers. She served as the organist at both St. Mary of the Knobs and St. Mary’s Navilleton Catholic Churches for 52 years, and she was the first recipient of the Lay Person of the Year award at St. Mary of the Knobs. She participated in her Bunco Club for more than 50 years and was a long-time member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs.  She was born Sept. 7, 1923 in New Albany, to the late Albert M., Sr. and Alma C. Schmidt Jacobi.

She is survived by her sons, James Andres, David Andres and his wife, Cathy, Donald Andres and his wife, Brenda, and Patrick Andres and his wife, Diana; daughters, Deborah Wessel and her husband, Larry, and Cindy Klusmeier; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James R. Andres, brother, Albert M. Jacobi Jr. and granddaughter, Ashley M. Andres.  

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany.
