— Funeral services for Betty J. Fields, 78, New Albany, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at Kraft Funeral Services, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Thursday, March 6, 2014.

  She was born Oct. 9, 1935 in Washington D.C. to the late Freeman and Leanah Vallandingham. She was a former employee of the old American Bank, Rasmussen Florist, and Kroger Pharmacy. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, New Albany.

Survivors include sons, J. Dishmond Fields and his wife, Sarah, and George Fields and wife, Susie; grandchildren, Courtnie Cunningham and her husband, Roy III, Keith Fields, Dishmond Fields, Kena Rickard and her husband, Caleb, and Mallorie Mugler and her husband, Keith; great-grandchildren, Rylee, Laynie, Conlee, Abram, Mollie, and Maggie; and sister, Beverly Osbon.

She was  preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John W. “Hoss” Fields, and brother, Robert Vallandingham.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
