Arthur W. “Art” Hagmann, 88; Georgetown

— Funeral services for Arthur W. “Art” Hagmann, 88, Georgetown, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in the Charlestown Road Chapel of Kraft Funeral Service in New Albany with private burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Thursday, March 6, 2014.

The son of the late William and Mary I. (Emery) Hagmann, Art was born Aug. 12, 1925, in New Albany. He was a WWII Navy veteran and member of Central Christian Church in New Albany. He was past president of the Kentuckiana Square Dance Association and was active for many years as a scout leader and trainer in the Boys Scouts of America. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Courtney.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Virginia Lou Jaegers Hagmann; children: Elizabeth “Beth” (Elwood) Lynn, William “Bill” Hagmann, Albert “Bert” Hagmann and wife, Kate; siblings: Byron Hagmann and wife, Jane; grandchildren Jennifer Skaggs, Paul Hagmann and wife, Katie, William Lynn and wife, Lana, and Elyse Lynn; great grandchildren Charli, Ashlee, Harrison and Claire.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
