Jane Duffy Brown

92; New Albany

A Mass of celebration for Jane Duffy Brown, 92, New Albany, will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 24, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Albany, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

 She was born Jan. 3, 1922 to George W. Duffy Sr. and Gertrude Farnsley Duffy. Jane and her husband, Stanley, were owners and operators of Froehde Mobile Homes in Louisville and New Albany before their retirement. Jane was a long-time parishioner of Transfiguration of Our Lord Catholic Church in Prospect before moving to Providence Retirement Home. She loved the Louisville Cardinals, attending the Kentucky Derby, playing bingo and cards and winters in Florida. Mostly, she loved time spent with family and friends. 

Survivors include her brother, Richard Duffy and his wife, Mary Ann; and sisters, Wilma Euless, Marilyn Duffy and Phyllis Denaley and her husband, Pat. She was a loving and giving aunt to three generations of nieces and nephews. 

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley “Brownie” Brown, Prospect; brother, George Duffy Jr.; and sisters, Martha Carroll, Rheda Duffy and Bonnie McNew.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany.
