Morris T. Comer, 69; New Albany


— Funeral services for Morris T. Comer, 69, New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.

He was born Sept. 19, 1943 in Pinhook, Mo. to the late Albert and Etta Hill Comer.

He was a retired employee with the Floyd County Road Department and was an avid NASCAR fan. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family and friends.  

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Martha R. Sutherland Comer; son, Ricky W. Comer; sister, LaVerne Martin and husband, Hollis; brother, Albert “A.J.” Comer Jr. and wife, Betty; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and several loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Alfred and Albert Comer.  

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, and after 8 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
