Estel Eugene ‘Poppy’ Enlow, 82; New Albany

Funeral services with military honors for Estel Eugene “Poppy” Enlow, 82, New Albany, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Kraft Funeral Service, Charlestown Road Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. He died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Lincoln Hills Health Center, New Albany. 

The son of the late Everett and Bernice East Enlow, he was born July 13, 1931 in Milltown. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served in the Korean War. He retired from Anco/Votator Division in Louisville as a welder and was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jessie L. Cooksey Enlow; daughters, Susan Williams, and Esther Yarbrough and her husband, Dave; sister, Ethel Gene Vaughn; grandchildren, Aaron Enlow and his wife, Emily, Brittany Lamoureux and her husband, Daniel, and Andrea Harp and her husband, Kevin; and great-grandchildren, Ariana, Amelia and Sullivan.

 Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Allison Pfaff.  

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
