Shirley S. Wilson

81; Jeffersonville

— Funeral services for Shirley S. Wilson, 81, Jeffersonville, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Legacy Funeral Center, Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Sellersburg Cemetery. She died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Clark Memorial Hospital.

   Shirley was born Jan. 19, 1932, in Jeffersonville, to the late Edward Sparks and Sarah Adams. She was retired from Walgreens, a member of the Red Hat Society, an area captain and leader of TOPS and previously attended Speed Memorial Church.

   She is survived by her loving husband James “Jim” Gilbert Wilson; two children, John Hardy Jr. and his fiancé Nancy Barnes; Cheryl Hardy Trobaugh and her husband Lester; two step-children, Malinda Wilson (Brenda Carroll); Elizabeth Cherry and her husband Ron; two sisters, Ruby Poteet and her husband Logan and Judy Stodgehill; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her faithful companion, Honey.  

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. 

  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Norman Forsee Hardy; and her first husband, Roy Hardy Sr.
