John Joseph (Joe) Hyman

84; Jeffersonville

— Funeral services for John Joseph (Joe) Hyman, 84, Jeffersonville, will be at noon Monday, Sept. 30, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, Jeffersonville, with entombment in Walnut Ridge Mausoleum.

He died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at Autumn Woods Health Campus.

Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family as well as being a 41-year heart attack survivor, a senior model at Alix Adams Agency of Louisville and a season ticket holder of the University of Louisville basketball and football teams. He worked at Colgate Palmolive for 42 years and was also a member of many local organizations including: Life Member of K of C, lifelong member of the Catholic Church, Louisville Historical League, Elks Club of Jeffersonville, Colgate Retiree Club, and the Old Sunnyside Cardinal Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Doris “Deanie” Hyman; three sons, Joseph D. Hyman (Patti), Frankfort, Ky., Vince Hyman

(Becky), Louisville, and Patrick Hyman, Charleston, W.V.; sister, Toby Pangburn; and four grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Catherine and Robert Hyman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Braitling Hyman; six siblings; and granddaughter, Aryn Jo Hyman.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy can take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Heart Association.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
