Barbara Ann Lewis

81; Jeffersonville

—  Funeral services for Barbara Ann Lewis, 81, of Jeffersonville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Scott Funeral Home’s North Chapel, Jeffersonville, with entombment to follow in Walnut Ridge Mausoleum, Jeffersonville. Surrounded by her family, she died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at her home. 

   She was born in Auburn, Ill., on Aug. 24, 1932 to the late John and Nanny Wallace. She worked as a self-employed hair dresser for many years and later in life fought a courageous 12 year battle against ovarian cancer.

    She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Dale Lewis Sr.; five children, Donna Hudgins and her husband, Norman, Christine Herdt and her husband, Steve, Sandy Nally (Jeff), Lora Ward and her husband, Todd, Dale Lewis Jr.; a brother, Charles Wallace; two sister-in-laws, Lori Wallace, and Betty Wallace; 12 grandchildren, Tony, Ronnie, Joshua, Andrew, Andrea, Jennifer, Ryan, Ashley, Ricky, Alicia, Aaron, Matt; and 14 great-grandchildren. 

   Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, John, Bill, Milton and Joel Wallace; and her daughter-in-law, Toni Lewis.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.

   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
