Kathryn W. Thomas, 85; Clarksville

A funeral service celebrating the life of Kathryn W. Thomas, 85, Clarksville, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook, Dieckmann & Naville, New Albany, with burial in SCI-Graceland Memorial Park. She died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at her home in Clarksville. 

She was the former Kathryn White, born Nov. 13, 1927 in Flemingsburg, Ky., and graduated with the Class of 1943 from Morehead (Ky.) High School. 

She was a retired adminstrative assistant from the Dallas Group, Jeffersonville. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Chapter 150, Huntington, W.Va., the granddaughter of Captain Andrew Jackson White, Confederate States Army. She was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, the Order of Kentucky Colonels and was a past president of both the New Albany Younger Women’s Club and the Falls of the Ohio Women’s Club. She was a member of the Galena United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry K. Stephenson and her husband, William Paul Stephenson Jr.; a grandson, Donald R. Sapp Jr. and his wife, Renee; granddaughters, Donna K. Lawson (Greg Brown) and Sherry Lynn Butler (Brian); great-grandchildren, Robert D. Lawson (Patty), Cody and Katie Sapp, Cory and Brittany Butler; a great-great-grandchild, Bailey Lawson; special people, Winnie Jones and Melva Megraw; her many friends and neighbors and her canine pal, Rusty. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerre M. Thomas; and her parents, Andrew Jackson White Jr. and Christine Nutter White. 

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday.
