Mary Jane McCarty, 99; Corydon

Funeral services for Mary Jane McCarty, 99, Corydon, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, Corydon, with burial in New Amsterdam Cemetery. She died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care- Corydon. 

She was born on May 12, 1914, in Russellville, Ill., the daughter of George W. and Nora Wolfe Trobaugh. She had worked as a Deputy for Royal Neighbors of American and also at Seinshiemers Shirt Factory in New Albany. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America Camp 4224 in New Albany, Order of Eastern Star 467, Corydon, and New Amsterdam United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Irene Neely Cuerdon, New Albany.

 She is preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents who raised her, Lewis and Nancy Trobaugh; brothers, Carl, Verne Clinton and Charles William Trobaugh; and her sister, Dorothy Cushwa.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and after 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Eastern Star service, 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial gifts be made to New Amsterdam United Methodist Church.
