Richard Dwight Belcher, 70; Floyds Knobs

Funeral services for Richard Dwight Belcher, 70, Floyds Knobs, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Newcomer Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial in St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery, Floyds Knobs. He died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, in New Albany.

He was born Oct. 1, 1943, in Cape Sandy, to the late George A. and Artie B. Shoemaker Belcher. He was veteran of the United States Army, and was a retired fireman with the New Albany Fire Department. After retiring, he owned and operated Circle B Kiddie Rides for a number of years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gambling.

He is survived by his brother, Donald Belcher; sisters, Barbara Harlow and Deborah Andres; special friend, Barbara; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

 Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Bob, Dencil, Willard, and Charles Belcher; and sisters, Bonnie Schneider, Betty Webb, and Freda Loman.  

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
