Funeral services for Roger L. Amos, 62, New Albany, formerly of Lexington and Hanover, will be at 7 p.m. this evening, Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Morgan & Nay Funeral Center, Madison, with burial in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison. He died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at Robert E. Lee Nursing & Rehab Center, New Albany.
He was born Dec. 30, 1950 in Scottsburg, son of the late of Wilson "Wick" and Freda Spencer Amos. He was raised in Scott County and attended school there. He was baptized at the Lexington Christian Church in Lexington. He resided for many years in Jefferson County area and the past several years in Clark County. He enjoyed visiting with friend and socializing with his neighbors. He was a loving brother, uncle, nephew and cousin.
Survivors include his sister, Lillie Corbett, Memphis; brother, Robert "Bob" Amos and his wife, Diane, Lexington; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials in memory of Roger be made to the American Cancer Society. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
