Doris R. Ferber, 82; New Albany

Funeral services for Doris R. Ferber, 82, New Albany, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, Market Street Chapel, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany. She died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services, New Albany.

 She was born Oct. 28, 1931 in New Albany to the late Edward Lee Merle and Lucille Virginia Dean Roberts. She was a graduate of New Albany High School and  formerly attended Trinity United Methodist Church and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, New Albany. She was retired as an executive secretary for US Steel Homes, New Albany, American Air Filter Company, Louisville, and Colgate Palmolive, Clarksville. She was a former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and also worked for Schuler Realty

Survivors include a son, Michael K. Ferber and his wife, Kim, New Albany; a sister, Sharon Conn, Clarksville; and four grandchildren, Milynn, Mariah and Marlea Ferber,  Floyds Knobs and Matthew Payne,  Redlands, Calif.; and

several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth K. Ferber, her son, David Wade Ferber, and stepfather, Fred Manker Wade.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
